With a converted power consumption of only 0.09 W/m³/h, the e²short is unsurpassed in energy efficiency, thus making an active contribution to environmental protection and saving money. The requirements of the current DIN 1946-6 for devices of efficiency class E are undercut by a multiple, which clearly underlines the world class of the device.
The e²short works according to the well-known principle of regenerative heat exchange, which has been almost perfected by LUNOS. The so-called acuvent storage stone is located in the middle of the air flow of an ec motor with axial fan. By means of a reversing air flow, which is created by a targeted change in direction of the fan, the ceramic material is charged with the heat energy of the room air and releases it again to the outside air supplied. This happens so efficiently that only 10 % of the heating energy is lost through the ventilation. For a balanced supply and exhaust air balance, at least two or an even number of e²short should be used. Equally important are efficient filters. Allergy sufferers can breathe a sigh of relief; with the optional pollen filter, pollen, dirt and suspended particles can no longer enter the apartment.
The e²short is one of the smallest decentralised fans for domestic ventilation with heat recovery and is based on the principle of regenerative heat exchange. With the help of the most modern manufacturing processes, it has been possible to develop a compact heat storage unit made of a ceramic composite material that delivers a thermal efficiency of a medium 80 %. The combination with highly efficient ec-motors and an intelligent control system has enabled LUNOS to develop one of the most economical fans.
If a LUNOS ventilation system has already been installed, existing ALD with LUNOtherm can be replaced by the e²short with heat recovery. Also in new buildings the LUNOS e²short can be combined with all LUNOtherm façade elements. In combination with this only a small slot remains in the window reveal. Unpleasant grilles or large wall constructions are a thing of the past.
LUNOS e²short can be used in new buildings as well as in renovation projects. The e²short is either placed between the bricks in a new building with the aid of a wall installation housing or retrofitted, e.g. in the case of renovation, with the aid of a 162 mm core drill hole. The wall has to be only at least 300 mm thick. The cabling is carried out directly from the control unit, which is installed in a standard electronic box or in the sub-distribution board. From there, only three wires are required, which are subjected to 12 V protective low voltage.
